Amalia (Mali for short) is just six months old. Her name comes from the Arabic word ‘Amal’, meaning hope. She is the essence of hope and trust for me. Last night I came home to find her on top of the refrigerator. She swayed back and forth looking for a way down. When wanted to get to me badly enough that she decided to launch herself onto my shoulder and coat! She begins to make those wonderful contented sounds every time I pick her up. She is definitely a people cat!

Luna’s mom says: Needless to say, we are thrilled that she’s been chosen as a Daily Puppy. She’s become very comfortable with her new life away from her litter. In a very short time she grew from the runt to “The Queen of Quite A Lot”. When she’s not ruling her royal subjects, she enjoys playing Frisbee and has become an exceptional athlete. She runs like the wind, leaps like a frog, and springs like a pogo stick. And at the end of the day she sleeps like a baby. Luna has stolen our hearts, several pairs of socks, a slipper, and the bottom half of the bed. Luna is most definitely–a warm puppy.

My little Anna came into my life a few days after I had to put my beloved 17 year old cat to sleep. I was devastated. A neighbor knew of this and asked me to go into his back bedroom and there was Anna. She is a sweet ball of fire, our very own tornado.

Baxter’s mom says: We adopted Baxter from an amazing rescue organization in New Jersey. They had rescued his mom, a tiny little beagle, from a puppy mill and she was pregnant at the time. He and his litter mates were born in a foster home and we found him on Petfinder. We were convinced just seeing his picture, but after going to meet him it was love at first sight. His mix is called a “doxle” and was bred at the puppy mill as part of the designer dog fad. We love his wirey hair, large ears and short little legs…the combination is just unique and adorable. He is such a well-behaved puppy, and learned where to go to the bathroom in only 1 week! He likes taking naps on a warm lap, chasing our orange tabby Butters and getting attention from each and every person that crosses his path. He plays hard and likes to run around and fetch his toys but he crashes hard and will nap for hours just about anywhere. Ice cubes are his favorite treat and he gets the puppy runs and dashes around the house like a mad man each time we give him one.

Mindy is a new addition to our family after the loss of our aging fearless hunter. She is a sweet wee thing and has bought much laughter & joy to our house. She is a Maine Coon cross and has enormous amounts of energy and at ten weeks old has a voracious appetite. She likes to snuggle up close to her human family when catnapping and ride around on ones shoulder like a parrot.

Parker’s sister says: Parker is a very mellow golden retriever puppy. He loves playing with tennis balls and will do just about anything for a treat! So far (at 15 weeks) he is enrolled in Puppy Preschool and has his first class last week. He LOVES it! He’s made so many new friends of all shapes and sizes. He will sit and stay (with temptation) and he is great at spinning! Pretty good for a baby! Parker has a website devoted to documenting his growth and development at www.parkerpup.com and it features many videos of him. He is extremely gentle but loves to play with his 3 year old golden sister, Daisy. He’s also decided that he likes to chase kitties around the house and play with them whenever they allow it! After only 3 weeks with him, his family is in complete love!

The weekend after Thanksgiving, River was found living in a paper bag in a local park in the freezing rain. She was underweight and unaccustomed to humans when we adopted her, but she is quickly growing in size and spirit. She now enjoys a lot of attention and is a playful “little sister” to our other two cats, who are 18 and 6 years old.

Puppy ’s mom says: Kegan hates to be by himself and gets so excited to see my husband or me come home. He chews on everything and has destroyed all of his toys with the exception of deer antlers (which happens to be his favorite at the momemt). He will do just about anything if he thinks there is food involved and will come charging inside to see “what does Mommy have?” True to his nature, he keeps all of the rabbits and chipmunks off of our property and, luckily, has not brought any trophies back to the house.

This picture of Sam was taken in our blueberry patch in July of 2002. He was always a wild thing. He was found without his mother. I hand raised him and he always was a little different than any other cat. They all are special in their own way.
